  • Innovations in Waste Management

 

Hear from Bob Schoenhard, EHS manager at Foremost Farms, Jessey Servi, sustainability manager at Outpost Natural Foods, and Ali Shana’a, sustainability manager at Frito-Lay Inc. They discuss what their companies have done to reduce waste. Bob highlighted that waste management progress is tracked by recycling/refuse hauler and by putting on annual company sustainability reports. Jessy’s main point was that waste is a resource, and composting food products produced by the kitchens has been the most effective way of reducing food waste. Ali’s main goal was working on the zero landfill project, which reduced waste by educating about recycling and waste tracking.

 

  • Building Partnerships

 

Hear from Denise Devereaux the VP of Human Resources at Mercury Marine, John Fojut, VP of Corporate Sustainability at Kohl’s and Wade Nolte, VP of Operations at Century Foods.  They discuss their experience with building partnerships with community groups.
