Celebrating Earth Day: Workshop & Recognition
Helping Your Employees Afford Residential Energy Efficiency Projects
& Earth Day Business Sustainability Awards Celebration Event
Thanks to all who attended!
The WI Sustainable Business Council, working with the Green Tier Program at the WI Department of Natural Resources and Cool Choices successfully presented the first Spring/Earth Day workshop and recognition event. The event was held at the Potawatomi Casino on April 9th, 2014. Videos from each of the sessions are available as links from the Event Schedule below.
The workshop showcased an innovative approach to engaging employees that was developed by the Clinton Climate Initiative and piloted in Wisconsin by the WI Energy Conservation Corporation (WECC). The Home Energy Affordability Loan Program (HEAL) is an employee benefits program designed to improve energy performance in people’s homes. By enlisting employers to offer the HEAL Program to qualifying employees, the program is able to make a large-scale and rapid impact in energy usage, GHG emissions and employment opportunities.
Johnson Controls was the first Wisconsin Company to pilot HEAL for their employees. Clay Nesler, Johnson Controls’ VP of Global Energy and Sustainability, talked about the results of the pilot, and Brian Driscoll from WECC talked about how other companies can get involved.
