The 2020 Conference was the first all-virtual conference WSBC has held. We drew over 300 participants from across Wisconsin and, several from outside our state, to learn from one another about current trends in Sustainability and how businesses were prioritizing sustainability amid the global pandemic. The two half-days were made up of candid conversations moderated by a subject matter expert. All session recordings are available for viewing on our member website. 2020 Virtual Conference Description

We are now living and working in ways we hadn’t previously imagined. COVID-19 has disrupted the world—our business models, our supply chains, our workforces, and the resilience of our businesses. The challenges faced in 2020 have garnered an increased awareness that our systems need review and modification.  Sustainability can be the catalyst to achieving economic recovery while making a positive impact on our people and planet.  Let’s leverage this moment in time!

WSBC’s 2020 virtual conference will bring us back to the basics of the triple bottom line to explore how the business community must evolve to get the people, planet, profit and prosperity model right—leveraging these circumstances to help pivot us into a sustainable future.

Bringing regional sustainability leaders together, we will explore how businesses have been adjusting their models to manage current events. Through our four different tracks, we will offer the case for sustainability at this moment in time, how we can better take care of our people today, and how you become a better influencer to drive sustainable change in your organization.

For 10+ years WSBC has brought thought leaders and influencers together to help shape the sustainable business conversation in Wisconsin. This year, you too can be part of the learning, idea sharing and networking, all from the comfort of your desk!

This track will explore the 21st Century Business Case for sustainability and why now, more than ever, is it critical to act.

  2. People Track: Your people matter. Your impact on society matters. This track will focus on the human side of sustainability. How to engage your workforce in this era and be a responsible participant in the stake for equity and human health.

Professional Focus: Day 2 — December 9, 2020 from 11am to 5pm

  1. Persuasion Track: Whether needing buy-in from your leadership team or from fellow employees, it takes skill to influence others to have a stake in sustainability. This track is designed to equip professionals with skills needed to reach critical mass for sustainable cultures

  2. Planet Track: Sustainability has long been about reducing your environmental footprint; however, the conversation today expands beyond efficiency to climate and carbon and to how to engage your stakeholders in your planning and prioritizing.
