The Sustainable Business Council’s new Green Bay Sustainable Business Accelerator was recently featured in a local news story by Press Times, highlighting the growing opportunity for businesses to adopt practical, cost-saving sustainability strategies in Northeast Wisconsin. The article underscores how the program will support small and midsized businesses in implementing nature-based solutions that reduce environmental impact while strengthening business resilience.
The six-month accelerator program provides participating businesses with expert coaching, peer collaboration, and hands-on guidance to help them identify and implement sustainability improvements. Through a cohort model, companies learn how to manage energy use, reduce waste, improve water stewardship, and develop a strategic sustainability roadmap tailored to their operations.
A key focus of the program is the use of nature-based solutions—approaches that work with natural systems to address environmental challenges while also providing economic and community benefits. Examples include stormwater management, habitat restoration, and other strategies that can help businesses lower costs and improve resilience over time.
Thanks to support from the Daybreak Fund, participation in the accelerator is free for selected businesses, with space for up to ten companies in the 2026 cohort. The program will run from April through June with implementation support continuing through the summer. Applications are open now and will be accepted through March 27, 2026.
We are excited to see this initiative gaining attention and helping position Green Bay businesses as leaders in sustainability and innovation.
